On the hottest day of the year, a group of intense athletes gathered and ran one, two, or three 10-mile loops around Wyandotte County Lake. They iced at every aid station, and consumed plenty of water, salt and electrolytes. Here are a few shots of their collective adventure.

One of my favorite races! I love this course, and love the people. It was thrilling to help Krista run her first 50k. I'm working on editing that video.

The Snake 10 Miler

The fourth annual running of The Snake 10 Miler was on July 13, 2019. Forced to alter the course because of flooding, Gary Henry designed a wonderful course that had fun variety: grassy fields, steep road hills, technical single track, panoramic views, and two significant water crossings.

I'm a lucky runner! I've lucked in to an amazing community of runners in the Kansas City area. Running the fourth annual Snake 10 miler really drove that point home for me. I met one of my favorite runners 4 years ago at this race, and this is the 4th race in the 7 race Golden Hawk Endurance Challenge.

Through on top that I got to run it with two friends. Living the dream!
